Introduction
Objective: To promote cultural exchanges and research collaboration between China and Nordic countries, particularly Nanjing University and some Nordic universities in the fields of humanities and social sciences, with special emphasis on developing some joint teaching programs in English and joint research projects.
Areas of interest: literature and culture, performance studies, environmental studies, women studies, government policies, social theories, comparative economics, human rights, international relations
In-house long-term programs:
Nordic Forum (lecture series by both Chinese and visiting Nordic scholars, writers, politicians, businessmen, etc.)
Nordic Week (first week in October): lectures, music, film, education, symposium, etc.
Joint Research Projects:
Ibsen between cultures (Prof. He CZ, with the Ibsen Centre, UiO), approved by Research Council of Norway
Urban Popular Culture in Nanjing and Oslo (speakers: Prof. Rune Svarverud of Oslo U and Prof. Cheng Zhangcan, Changjiang Chair Professor of Chinese Studies, Nanjing U)
Nordic modes of social policy (Prof. Lin Ka, with Tampare University)
Chinese-Nordic Ecological thoughts (with fund from Chinese ministry of education, looking for partners from partner universities of CNCC)
A History of Chinese-Nordic literary Relations (with fund from Chinese National Fund of Humanities and Social Sciences, looking for co-author from partner universities of CNCC)

Joint Teaching Programs in English:
NOTE: With a goal of internationalization, Nanjing U pays much attention to the development of English-teaching programs as well as courses. CNCC will take measures to encourage the participation of colleagues from our Nordic partners for the joint development of the English-teaching programs, preferably on MA level.
